Fishing in Watamu

Fishing in Watamu has always renowned for being fantastic.  This is due to the great diversity of fishing opportunities available.  It is one of the very few places where three types of Marlin, Sailfish, Broadbill Swordfish and Shortbill Spearfish are all available.
Last year in particular put Watamu on the map with its first 1000lb Marlin caught on Ol Jogi (skippered by Stuart Simpson) out of Hemingways. This was a triumph for the destination as it was the first one caught that year world wide and only the second caught in Kenya ever.

Fishing in Watamu

We are lucky to have a number of very skilled skippers operating out of Watamu on a yearly basis. These fishermen are world renowned at what they do so as the season starts to pick up they can be very busy. We would highly recommend getting in touch to book your 1/2 day,  day or days out on the water to avoid missing out on the experience of a life time.  We are  currently in  our main part of the season where skippers will be targeting marlin and sailfish on the rips. Fishing over this period will be predominately with the lures but will live bait when bait is available.
